We were in the town of Hluboká nad Vltavou to visit the state chateau which is on top of a hill in the middle of town. There was no real reason for us to visit this chateau since this wasn’t a UNESCO World Heritage site, we only picked this place because it looked nice. We parked the car and walked up the hill to get to the chateau. It wasn’t a steep hike and soon enough we were there. The State Chateau of Hluboká or Státní Zámek Hluboká started its existence a a Gothic castle in the thirteenth century. It was remodeled multiple times until its final form we see right now. I thought it was interesting that the chateau looks a lot like castles in Britain and Ireland. I seems like the last remodeler was impressed with Windsor Castle and rebuilt the castle in its image.

The chateau has a large garden in front of it. It is currently a park where visitors can freely visit. There were several trees here which made taking photos of the chateau a little challenging. As you can see the chateau looks quite impressive and it is one of the most visited castles in the country. I was surprised that just happened across this castle just by browsing Google Maps. We weren’t able to get in the castle and just stayed outside. My friends were just hanging out at some bench nearby while I was out and about taking photos. I get my photos and no one is complaining, I can’t say I could ask for anything more.
