The beauty of the internet is that there is almost limitless knowledge to be found here. This was how I managed to find Val di Funes. I was doing a little research on what to see in the Dolomites and this was one of the places which came up. Of course, I had to go visit the place since I was already in the area. It wasn’t exactly the easiest place to go to since this is hidden within a valley in the mountains. The road was winding and it took me some time to get there. Despite its supposed popularity, I had to pull out Google Maps to find out where I should be going. One of these places is the Church of Saint John which wasn’t too far from where I was.

One of the challenges here in Val di Funes is finding convenient parking spaces. There was already a lack of signs pointing to the points of interest, compounded with the difficulty in finding parking spaces, this makes Val di Funes a little challenging to visit. Or perhaps, that was the intention. Thanks to Google Maps, I managed to find the way to a the church – or rather, the way to the view point. There wasn’t much parking here and I just stopped by the side of the road. Fortunately, there wasn’t a lot of traffic this time of the day and I didn’t end up blocking other people. Still I knew I needed to hurry and get my photos before I really end up getting in someone’s way.
