I had a great time doing my first walk on a frozen lake. I started from eastern shore and slowly made my way to the opposite shore. There was snow on the ice which made it a little easier to walk on, which means no slipping and sliding. One can even clear the snow to have a look at the ice below. The ice is quite clear and you can see stuff that was frozen with the water. I understand that it is not really frozen all the way to the bottom, so hopefully fish can still survive the winter. Across the lake there was small church which intrigued me.

I know that churches are nothing new hear in Italy, but to see one here beside the lake is strange. Cappella Lago di Braies is a small chapel built on the shores of the lake. The Tyrolean style chapel is surprisingly old having been built in the year 1904. It is current owned by the hotel. I could imagine that this church can be popular for weddings but with no permanent residents in the area, I wonder when the church actually gets used. The church has attracted important people to come here and see the church. I guess the location of the church beside a beautiful lake really helps.
