The Dolomites are one of the most popular destinations in Italy and it is for good reason. The mountains are beautiful and it has multiple lakes which dot the mountain range. Some of these lakes will need a little more effort to get to, like needing to hike through the mountains. Some of them are much easier to visit – by simply driving there. Of course, Italy will not want to waste the tourism potential of the Dolomites. There are roads which go through the mountain range which makes it easy to access these majestic mountains, that also includes the beautiful alpine lakes that are present here. I will be doing a drive along the main road which goes through the Dolomites and hopefully see a lot of these beautiful lakes.

One of the most popular lakes in the Dolomites is no doubt the Lago di Braies. I was doing a little research on the Dolomites and I came across a photo of the lake and that was when I decided that I really needed to go to the Dolomites and go to this beautiful lake. By this time in my tour of the Dolomites, I have no illusions that I would be able to see the beautiful turquoise lake that I saw in the photos. I already been to one completely frozen lake and the second one was in the process of freezing over as well. With my luck, the Lago di Braies would also be frozen over but I will not have any problem with it anymore. I was also fascinated seeing a completed frozen over lake that I wouldn’t mind seeing another one.
