Freezing Lago di Dobbiaco
Freezing Lago di Dobbiaco

I was a bit surprised to see that there were a lot of visitors when I arrived at Lago di Dobbiaco. I thought that I arrived early enough in the morning that there shouldn’t be that many tourists but here they are. They came in a tour bus, so there were a lot of them. Most of the visitors were hanging out near the car park while some decided to have a look around. There were some people doing a little skiing here. The area around the lake was a bit flat and there was plenty of snow. They turned it into a makeshift ski slope, which only goes horizontally. I guess it is a nice way for people who can’t ski to try it out. It is better to do it here first than learning high up in the mountain where there is an actual slope.

I thought it was amusing to see that but I was glad that they were more interested in the skiing rather than the lake itself. I thought to walk all around the lake but it was bigger than I thought so I thought to just go to the more accessible parts. There is a cottage in the opposite bank of the lake and I thought to go there for some photos. The cottage seemed to be more for summer activities and there didn’t seem to be any activity that morning. It was still nice to take photos of a seemingly abandoned cottage by a frozen lake.
