Tre Cime is one of the more significant landmarks here in this part of the Dolomites. The three peaks for which is was named after rise up with their prominent rocky structure. This unique look makes the Dolomites so attractive and truly worth a visit. It was hard to keep my eyes on the road since the peaks were so intriguing. There are also a number of hiking trails which go to the Tre Cime but I have no plans on going there, at least for this trip. I was traveling alone and I don’t have the proper footwear to go on a hike like that in deep snow. So I can only take photos of the mountains.

Across the road from the viewpoint, I noticed a structure which looked a little out of place. It looked like a cottage but it was actually more than that. It was a hotel and restaurant. It didn’t seem to be open at the time but I can imagine that it can be quite popular in the summer. The hotel restaurant makes for a nice foreground against the mountains behind it. There is also a nice smooth slope outside the hotel and I wonder if it makes for a good snowboarding. Unfortunately, the place looked really dead and I don’t think people come here in the winter. I guess operating it in the winter isn’t worth paying staff to just wait around for people to come.
