Zoomed In View of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo

When I was looking at the photos of the Dolomites, I saw that the mountains have very distinctive peaks. I thought that they look very different from normal mountains that I would normally see. What’s more they are have snow on them in the colder months which makes them look even more attractive. As you can see on this blog, I am not a very active hiker. I would only hike if it is short enough and maybe if I somehow prepare for it. I was at the Tre Cime di Lavaredo viewpoint in the Dolomites. This is where a lot of the hikes for the Tre Cime di Lavaredo would start. And I am not about to start a hike here. I don’t have proper equipment since all I have are running shoes. The snow looks deep and I don’t want to get my socks wet from melting snow. Either way, I don’t see any people either despite the cars here. If I do go on a hike, I would at least like to be following someone.

There is a nice little viewing area here. There is a nice flat area here. There are two mountains on both sides of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo which frame it beautifully. I can see that there are some footprints in the snow and they all go into the distance. I know it would be great to visit it but maybe not now. Looking at the three peaks I would look like to think that they aren’t very impressive but it is just that they far behind the nearby mountains. Fortunately, I got a long telephoto lens that can get a better look at the Tre Cime without walking an inch. There are numerous trails which go to the Tre Cime as well as the rifugio where one can rest and seek shelter where needed. Some of them are even open for stays. I think it would be great to stay in these places since you get the place all to yourself at night.
