I somehow found myself outside the walls of the Monastery of Santa Maria in Valle where the path was overlooking the Natisone River. It was a nice view of the river and it helps that it was such a beautiful day as well. I initially thought that it was the end of my visit, since this was the same path I saw earlier in the day when the monastery wasn’t open to visitors yet. This path was part of the path for staff and I managed to stumble into it earlier in the morning.

Turns out, the visitor’s path still leads back to the monastery but what I saw surprised me. There was another staff desk there and the one manning the desk was the same lady who sold me the entrance ticket in the first place. I was confused there since it was strange to see the same person in the entrance and also at the exit. I don’t know how it works here but maybe she went to this other desk after I went in for some reason. Maybe they don’t have enough staff manning the entire place. I don’t think she understood my shock at seeing her again. She instead instructed me to go through this other door. I was thinking that it must be the exit and that was it. What a disappointment. Instead it was the total opposite. That was the entrance to the actual Lombard Temple!
