The old town center of Cividale del Friuli it like a time machine. Once you go there, it is like being transported back in time. A lot of the old structures have been preserved. However, one would need to note that the town has more then two thousand years of history. So inevitably, it would have built on top of the older places and parts would have been torn down. As are result, there would various structures here which would be from different time periods. Even if you don’t know much about the history of the town, like myself, it is still a pleasure just to visit the old town center.

The town center is actually just about waking up. It was a Sunday and I was surprised the shops even open. It felt like how a medieval town center felt like and it was actually very nice. While I was a bit early, there weren’t too many people out this time of the morning, but I am sure there would be more as the day goes on, especially since it was actually a very beautiful, albeit, cold Sunday morning. I decided to look around the small passageways in the city and hopefully get some nice photos. Google Maps is usually useless when it comes to pedestrian town center but it is surprisingly useful here.
