For a change, I was taking my time visiting the UNESCO World Heritage listed city of Palmanova in Northern Italy. I don’t have other plans for the rest of the day apart from looking around in Palmanova. I decided to first walk around the entire city since the whole thing about Palmanova is that it is a fortified city. The walls are still mostly there in varying states of disrepair. You can clearly see how some walls look very old while others look like they were only recently installed. Of course, they needed to maintain these walls this whole time but now it is for tourism purposes.

There are three main gates to enter Palmanova. I have already entered through Porta Aquileia since that is where I came from to begin with. As I was walking around the city walls, I came across the Porta Cividale. Since there are three gates and they are all equally spaced apart, I knew that I was just one third of my way around the city wall. This seems to be take longer than I thought. While the weather was actually nice for walking, I still have to complete my walk. I think this will take me more than an hour to go around the city. The Porta Cividale, I assume, faces the direction of Cividale del Friuli which is another important city in the area. The gate itself looks much like the previous gate and I didn’t think there was anything noteworthy here. So I just kept walking.
