Now that I have completed my visit to the city of Aquileia, I was ready to move on. Ordinarily, I would be taking the train to get to the next place but this area of Italy isn’t as well connected as I would like. To get to the next place, I would have to wait several hours for the next transportation to get there. When in fact, it isn’t that far away at all. Fortunately, I rented a car to make better use of time to visit this region of Italy. Perhaps I was getting lazy but I think this is the best way to make use of the time I have here.

My next stop is the city of Palmanova which is only twenty minutes away from Aquileia. It is more or less a straight line going to the Palmanova from the main highway of Aquileia. I actually saw a sign pointing to Palmanova on the way to Aquileia, so I knew that it was close by. Although I will be staying somewhere nearby, I will be visiting Palmanova first before checking in. The city of Palmanova has walls and it can be entered through three gates. I got in through the southern gate and somehow managed to find a free parking lot, which for lack of a better term, was dodgy. Google Maps reviews describe it as apocalyptic. There were houses in poor condition and one would wonder why anyone would park here. Still there are other vehicles here so I think it was okay. Ultimately, the car was perfectly fine all the time I left it there. So take it for what it is worth.
