Canyonlands National Park is true to its name, most of the important places to see here in the park are vast open canyons which were carved out either by the Green River or the Colorado River. I only got to visit the Island in the Sky district of the park which is the most accessible part of the park. The other three districts will need to be accessed through a different entrance or through a rough road which my rental car is certainly not capable of handling. I know that this will be a rather short visit since I will not be able to see the rest of the park but I will try to make the best of it.

The next stop in the main driving route is the Grand View Point. I remember a similarly named spot in a previous visit to the Grand Canyon and I think it would be a common name to use in places like these. Grand View Point as you might imagine has big expansive views of the canyons. I don’t know why one would be more grand than the other but this one ended up with the name. As usual, there is a viewing area here for visitors and then can appreciate the view below. It seems that the land here it more broken then the previous stop. However, it seems that this stop is a little closer to the canyon so I think it is a little easier to appreciate.
