It was the following day and I am on to my second national park in Moab city. It is fortunate to have two national parks right next to each other, I wondered why they didn’t make them just one big park. Either way, Moab city was a great place to base myself in to visit these two parks. I woke up early that morning while it was still dark to go to Canyonlands National Park. The idea was to catch a sunrise here, I tried catching a sunrise at Zion National Park it turned cloudy that morning so that wasn’t successful. This morning looks to be much better though.

I arrived at the car park at Mesa Arch while it was still dark. I was first in the car park. I was worried that there would be a lot of visitors waiting to catch sunrise here but it seems that I was mistaken or just too early. I knew what time sunrise would be but I just couldn’t risk not getting a spot to get my photographs in case there were too many people there. It looks like I don’t have to worry about it.
After waiting for a bit, I got out of the car and started to make my way to the arch. I had no idea how far the spot is so I need to make sure that I was there early enough. You can’t see the sunrise from the car park, you need to walk a bit to get to the viewing area which is probably just ten minutes away. If you are going there for sunrise, better bring a headlamp with you since the trail will still be dark and it would be hard to find the trail like that.
