Walking to the Skyline Arch in Arches National Park
Walking to the Skyline Arch in Arches National Park

The trail to Broken Arch in Arches National Park took longer than I anticipated. I wasn’t in a rush or anything but I just wasn’t expecting it to be that long. The trail was very easy as it was pretty much flat all the way. You might need to do a little climbing if you really want to see the Broken Arch up close but otherwise it was very straightforward. I made my way back to the car and was on my way again. I’m enjoying my visit to the park and I think it has just the right mix of walking to cater to most visitors. Of course there would be the more active type of visitor but there are also trails here which cater to them.

The next stop is the Skyline Arch. I only know about these places because there are dedicated stops for them. There is another short walk from parking to the arch but in a departure from how the Broken Arch was, you can see the Skyline Arch just as you are starting to walk. There is a wall in the distance which has a large hole which forms the arch. The top of the arch is flat, so the arch feels more like a window, rather than a traditional arch.
