Hidden within a collection of sandstone fins in Arches National Park is the Sand Dune Arch. It is named such because there is an accumulation of sand here due to the enclosed nature of the area. The arch itself isn’t as tall at the others that I have seen previously. Someone much have explored this area in the past and discovered that there is another arch here. What’s more it is very well formed and accessible to visitors. It turns out that there is another arch here in the vicinity. I need to walk a bit to get there but it doesn’t look like it is going to be anything serious.

To backtrack a bit, from the car park there is a trail going in to the desert. The trail branches off at one point, with the right going to Sand Dune Arch and the left one going to Broken Arch. The Sand Dune Arch trail was very short but the Broken Arch trail is longer. Looking at the trail, I can’t see any obvious arches here, maybe it was called broken because it has already collapsed. I see people much further ahead of me, maybe it is still much further away. Fortunately, the trail is very flat and it was very easy to follow.
