Looking at the North and South Windows in Arches National Park
Looking at the North and South Windows in Arches National Park

The Windows at Arches National Park is one of these places which would be on everyone’s bucket list on a visit to Arches National Park. This is actually not along the main driving route but there are signs pointing towards it to avoid missing them. The Windows is a large concentration of rock formations in the park where it finally features actual arches. These are the first proper arches I have seen in the park, this is not counting that tiny one which is still in the process of forming. As the name implies, there is more than one window here, the North and the South Windows are the more prominent ones with others also nearby.

There is a trail that takes visitors around the North and South Windows, I was already on the trail and looking back you can clearly see that there are two arches side by side. From behind they don’t look as large but only when you get very close to it that you realize how large the holes really are. The South Window is the more accessible among the two but you can also get a closer look at the North Window when you get around the entire arch formation. It isn’t a long walk but it is nice to be able to see the arch from 360 degrees. There will be parts of the trail where you would struggle to find the trail, my advice is to just keep going.
