Bryce Amphitheater from Upper Inspiration Point
Bryce Amphitheater from Upper Inspiration Point

I would like to think that I have visited most of the places here in Bryce Canyon National Park – at least the ones which are accessible by car. I hardly did any hiking here since I was merely driving around and taking photos. I was a little disappointed with the views from the highest point but the scenery started to improve after that. Inspiration Point is one of the most popular locations in Bryce Canyon National Park and it is for a reason. The viewing area provides great looks at one of the parks signature views – Bryce Amphitheater. There is a natural amphitheater carved out and it is littered with countless hoodoos which the park is famous for.

As you can see from the photos, the sun is starting to get lower in the horizon, improving the contrast on the hoodoos. Earlier in the day, the sun was much higher and it was not that easy to discern a lot of the features. Now, you can clearly see the texture of the landscape. Inspiration Point has two viewing areas. The Lower Inspiration Point and the Upper Inspiration Point. They are separated by a short walk with Upper Inspiration Point up on an elevated platform to the right of the parking area. The two points are separate enough that you can see two slightly different angles of Bryce Amphitheater. This is what I have been waiting for on my visit to Bryce Canyon National Park, truly it is as great as it looks in the photos.
