Inspiration Point has got to be one of the highlights of a visit to Bryce Canyon National Park. After a series of rather lackluster views from the highest point of Bryce Canyon, the views have gotten better until I arrived at Inspiration Point. This viewing area looks over the Bryce Amphitheater. The canyon here forms a natural amphitheater with the numerous hoodoos forming the “audience” of the amphitheater. It is really an amazing sight. My only gripe was that the lighting wasn’t very good since the sun was shining right at the amphitheater and it was unable to provide a sense of shape to the amphitheater because everything was equally lit.

I don’t know about the other spots here in the park but this is so far the best spot I have seen. You can tell how important this place is because the viewing area is so big. It is obviously to help cope with the huge number of people who would come here during peak season. I was so glad that I came during the low season and there were only a few people here, no doubt just as impressed as I was with Inspiration Point. The area is so big that they have a Lower Inspiration Point and Upper Inspiration Point. I think I am ahead of schedule so I should try to visit both spots.
