I think the scenery is getting a little better the more I come down from the highest point in Bryce Canyon National Park. There is much variety if you are high up and ultimately you just get different angles of the same thing. But now that I have starting coming down, it seems that the scenery has finally started to change, for the better. The next stop in the tourist driving route is the Swamp Canyon Overlook. I don’t know about the swamp but I will have to believe them if they say there is one here. From here you can see that you are lower now and not just looking down on everything.

I think what is more striking here is that the sandstone structures here are pointy. It almost reminded me of karst formation I have seen elsewhere. What makes it look better are the trees which grow in between them. Sometimes, you can just see the tops of the hoodoos rising from the trees. I think this is getting closer to the main hoodoo clusters which might explain the improvement in the scenery here. Swamp Canyon has a trail which connects to Sheep Creek. Obviously, I didn’t go for it as I was content to just stay an admire the view from the overlook. But hikers have a choice to do the trail here.
