Having completed my visit to the highest point of Bryce Canyon National Park, it was time for me to start retracing my route back to the visitor center. The idea was to hopefully avoid most of the visitors and at the same time be on the “right” side of the road so I can easily access the pullouts along the driving route. It turns out that all of the pullouts here were on the left when going towards Rainbow point. This means that visitors going the opposite way would have an easier time pulling over in case then need to stop. This goes the same for pulling out of it, drivers won’t have to worry about incoming cars since they don’t need to cross a lane to get to their correct lane. I know, there aren’t too many visitors this time of the year anyway so traffic should not be a problem. I was only renting the car, so I don’t want any unnecessary complications from needing to cross lanes to take my photos.

I know that I would be stopping a lot going down the mountain since I saw that there were several pullouts for sightseeing. Some of them were just a simple pullout while others are a bit more substantial. The pullout for Black Birch Canyon is one of these. Visitors can pullover to the right but they still need to walk a bit to get to the actual viewpoint. I would imagine that they had reasons why it wasn’t like the previous pullout but I would think it had something to do with safety. I can’t really see the view from the parking area so I would need to walk a bit to get there. If they named the place, then I would expect that this is one of the more important spots to go to.
