Looking at the visitor’s map of Bryce Canyon National Park, the park seems to be quite straightforward to visit. There is a single main road where visitors can follow and a lot of the points of interest would be accessible from there. I know it was almost winter, actually, it was pretty much already winter here since it was freezing cold and I should now expect a lot of competition when it comes to viewing spots but I thought that I should just hurry along and get ahead of anyone else who might be there. Just following the main road led me to the next spot – Natural Bridge.
I have seen lots of photos of this part of the country and it was only a matter of time that I would actually see a natural arch here. The Natural Bridge of course is a natural arch formed from erosion. Sometimes a fin of sandstone would have its center erode faster than the rest of the structure as a result of the composition of the rock. This would produce a hole which would eventually grow bigger and can sometimes produce natural bridges or arches like these. As you can see, this natural bridge isn’t fit for crossing. However, it is still neat to see something like this in person. I know that Bryce Canyon is more known for its hoodoos and not for arches but I was still glad to see it here.
