Morning at Sunset Point in Bryce Canyon National Park

It was mid morning when I arrived at Bryce Canyon National Park. I knew that I only have this whole day to visit the park because of my tight schedule so I would need to start my visit as soon as possible. Looking at the map, it looks like visiting Bryce Canyon National Park would be quite simple. There is a main road which I need to follow and there would be stops along the way. I somehow ended up at Sunset Point before I decided how to properly approach this. It was freezing that morning at Bryce Canyon National Park. The park is at a higher elevation compared to Zion which would account for the much cooler climate.

It was still morning when I was at Sunset Point in Bryce Canyon National Park. I know this is not the “correct” time to be here but I somehow found myself here. I know it is not the best time to be here since the sun was right in front of me, making photography tough. It was still illuminating the natural amphitheater below. There are probably hundreds of these pointed sandstone structures called hoodoos which is a signature feature of the park. The sandstone spires would get illuminated by the sun and at the same time have shadows which give you an idea of how the hoodoos look like. There are hikes to be done here but I am not here to hike. I would probably consider doing one if I find a short one but for now, I would just drive around and take photos.
