I had a great day at Zion National Park. I was able to visit most of the important places in the park which were accessible to visitors. However, one of the most well known spots – Angel’s Landing, was off limits to me. It is considered to be a difficult trail as it requires a good deal of fitness since a large portion of the trail is uphill with several dangerous parts especially towards the end of the trail. It was a good start of my visit to the national parks of Utah and I quickly went back to the hotel after I had my dinner.
The follow day, I left early and started my drive to the next stop – Bryce Canyon National Park. I have also heard about this national park, usually spoken together with Zion. The park is not too far from Zion National Park but I still thought to stay somewhere closer to Bryce Canyon. As expected, I had to go through the Zion Mount Carmel Tunnel to go to Bryce Canyon. I have been here the previous day and I already had a look around the area so I don’t need to stop every now and then when I need to go to Bryce Canyon. Actually, there wasn’t much stopping anyway. After I got past the Zion National Park East Entrance, there wasn’t much to see anyway. Of course, there is always the expansive scenery to look at along the way, but nothing as impressive that would require stopping. In fact, there were hardly any pullouts along the way which might indicate anything nice to see.
I arrived at Bryce Canyon National Park around nine in the morning. Like Zion, it wasn’t empty, but it wasn’t full either. It was also relatively early in the day so maybe people haven’t come here, though I would have thought people would be here for sunrise. It was a beautiful but very cold morning. After passing through the gates, I decided to start exploring. It was too late for sunrise but I can still visit the rest of the part regardless. Ironically, I ended up a Sunset Point as my first stop.
