This was one of those times that I got invited by others to go somewhere else. We weren’t going overseas but it was still far enough that we needed to stay over a few nights. Depending on my companions, I would know when I would get to do stuff that I want and there would be times where I would just go with the flow. This was the latter, we had kids with us so I knew that we would be going to places which would interest the kids. I usually just go with the flow and enjoy their company. Fortunately, this is place is one which I haven’t been to before – Avondale. I have never heard of this place so it sounded like a great place to visit with everyone else.
Avondale is a large park in County Wicklow, we were already staying in Dublin city so it was a short drive out of the city. I haven’t been to County Wicklow that much, but I think I have visited the most important place in the county and that is Glendalough National Park. It certainly is a very nice place but I don’t think I properly visited the park. Avondale is somewhere in the county and I was hoping that this would be a place of similar beauty. Getting to the park is pretty straightforward with us just hopping on the highway out of Dublin. It gets very quiet once you get to far enough from Dublin and you get to enjoy the country once again.
