Beaches Along the Algarve Coast

When I first saw photos of the cliffs at the Algarve Region in Portugal, I was very impressed. They weren’t as tall as the ones I have seen elsewhere but I think it more the color of the rocks which distinguish it from other places. The yellow hue of the rocks gives it a vibrant color now seen elsewhere. That is why when it was suggested that our group join a boat tour of the coast, I didn’t have any objections. I normally don’t go for such trips but I think because the coast is so nice, it has to be seen from the sea.

The coast of Algarve isn’t just about cliffs, sure they are spectacular but there are also beaches here. A lot of them. It seems the sea has just carves out large chunks out of the cliffs and you end up with a beach. It is nice to see how seemingly private these beaches can be since a beach can be walled off by tall cliffs on three sides. The only way to get to these beaches it to go by boat. Sometimes you can just kayak your way there or there would be boat tours which will bring visitors there for a picnic. Sometimes you would think that private beaches are a place which you can only go to in the tropics but I was surprised to see that Portugal has a lot of them.
