Cliffs of the Algarve Coast

After days of price checking and decision making, we managed to book a tour of the Algarve Coast which would satisfy almost everyone in the group. We got on a boat at Albufeira Marina and finally head out to open sea. I was very happy that it was still mid day and that the sun wasn’t directly above us which made lighting very good. I don’t know how long it will last but I hope it lasts the whole tour. We were seated in the front row of the boat, which made me a little worried about splash but there wasn’t any. While it was recommended that everyone wear their seat belts, once the boat was moving at a constant speed, some people already started standing up. I only stood up to take photos but there would be more standing up for me since were already at the start of the tour.

I now know that the coastline of the Algarve Region is one of the most spectacular in the world. I got a sample of that at Ponta da Piedade which is in Lagos but I don’t think we would go all the way there. At least, we would be able to see the cliffs which are nearer Albufeira. It didn’t take too long until we already started seeing the steep cliffs which this region is known for. The signature yellow rock is remarkable in the sunlight as it distinguishes it from cliffs in other places. Our guide said there only Australia which has something similar like this and we are fortunate to have it so close. Along the coast, you can see how there are a lot of villas built along the cliffs, I’m sure these are very expensive homes but it must be amazing to have a house in this area.
