Going to Navajo Bridge

I think it is good that I left earlier in the day. I knew that it was going to be blistering hot, so I thought that leaving earlier would allow me some time to enjoy the morning in relative comfort compared to getting tortured in the afternoon heat. By the time I got out, it was already warm. I can only tell that it is “not hot” but I knew it will get worse as the day goes on. For some reason, Page, Arizona can get really hot, so I quickly made my way out. The drove through the desert on the way to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon is very pleasant, thanks to the air-conditioning inside the car.

I would get out of the car a few times to take photos of the beautiful desert landscape and quickly run back into the comfort of the air-conditioned car. So far, much of the area after Antelope Pass has been flat. There are plentiful places where you can pull the car over to rest of take photos. Other vehicles on the road have been quite rare, which tells you how remote this place is. It is still summer time and the number of vehicles traveling here is already that low, what more if winter comes. I imagine it would be very nice to be here when the sun is setting but I also don’t want to be caught outside in the middle of nowhere. I will have to see how it works out as the day goes on.
