Desert View from Bitter Springs

Down from Antelope Pass

Down from Antelope Pass

I started my drive from Page, Arizona to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon which is more than two hours away from where I started. I know that this isn’t the most efficient way of going there. However, going to the North Rim from the South Rim takes more than three hours by itself so I thought that Page would be a good place for me to stay since I would actually be staying there for a few days. I thought that just using a day for the North Rim would have been okay. The road out of Page is a long and desolate one but at the same it is eerily beautiful.

I don’t have a lot of experience traveling in this kind of environment so I would think that something like this would be very interesting for me. I know it is not the most pleasant of environments but I still try to see the beauty in it. Going through Antelope Pass and down the mountain was an interesting experience since I get to see where I would be going. There are also stopping areas for vehicles in case you want to stop and rest or just take photos, which I did. Vehicles that pass through this road aren’t plentiful, which can be a little worrying but I think my rental car is in good shape and should be able to bring me to my destination.
