Fan Pier Park at Night

Boston Harbor at Night

Boston Harbor at Night

I had a nice seafood dinner at The Barking Crab. The restaurant sits right by the Fort Point Channel which makes it a great spot for dinner. I also intentionally planned to have dinner here since I liked the cityscape here. Earlier in the day, I passed by Fan Pier Park which is just a short walk away from here. You can get a very good view of Boston Harbor and the buildings around it which I think is one of the best views of the city. Of course, cities are best photographed at night when the lights of the buildings start coming up at night. It also helps that the days are longer this time of the year that I still had time to get dinner and more time to wait until it actually gets dark.

Fan Pier Park is a small park in one corner of the new Seaport District. I would like to think that they intentionally planned this park on this location because it has a great spot in Boston Harbor. By the time I finished dinner and was out I was tired because of jet lag but I knew this would be the best time to photograph the city. The sky wasn’t totally dark yet and although it was a Sunday that I was out, some of the office buildings had offices with lights on. I knew that it would be better to do this on a weeknight, but I don’t think it would be any better because the sun goes down past nine in the evening and I doubt too many people would still be working in the office.
