South Station in Boston

Outside South Station in Boston

It was a long day in Boston for me. I woke up early because I was still jet lagged but now that I am out and it is already evening in Boston I have started to get tired and sleepy. I only wanted to make sure I get a nice night shot of the city of Boston because I might not have time take photos in the following days. I was still trying to find my way around the city and I still don’t remember where places are. Most importantly for me, I need to remember where the hotel is. I know that there is subway station right beside it, so I needed to remember where the nearest subway station is.

I wasn’t that far after all. I needed to take the red line back to the hotel and it just happens that South Station was nearby. South Station is one of the major stations in the subway system of Boston. Apart from the red line, it also has connections to the bus terminal and more importantly, this is where you get on for the regional lines. I don’t think I would have time to try these trains but it is nice to know where it is. I would later find out that there is a bus line with connects passengers to the airport. This would be especially convenient for me since I do not need to get an expensive taxi to get there. The station itself looks like one of those old structures and it has some neoclassical features. Inside, it is quite spacious. By the time I was there, it was already night and a lot of the shops are already closed. I would imagine that it would be very lively inside the station. There were still passengers waiting for their trains here but they also have seats in case you need to wait long.
