I was surprised that I enjoying walking up and down the wharves here in Boston. I know that Boston is a very historic city, but honestly, I was quite bored with all these historical places. It could just be the heat or it could be that I just got off from a long haul flight or maybe I was just tired from walking around but either way, it didn’t really interest me that much as you can see. I took some photos of these historic places but that was basically it. However, the wharves were a different thing. Yes, they are actually historical. Some of them have been built in the 1700s when Boston was a big maritime destination. These days, it is more a place for recreation.

There are several wharves built along the Boston waterfront. These days, hotels and restaurants line the wharves and they made a Harborwalk which lets visitors just have a walk along the water. I think it is a very attractive place and it makes for a great location for food. By this time, I was ready to have dinner. I actually wasn’t that hungry. I was more tired and sleepy than hungry. It was already seven in the evening but it was actually already way past my normal bedtime because of the time difference. However, I knew that I need to eat. I ended up visiting a place which I have been to in New York City and I was pleasantly surprised to know that they have a branch here – Smith and Wollensky.

I had a wonderful dinner at the New York City branch and I knew that I couldn’t go wrong chosing this place. I picked a seat outside by the water thinking that it would be a great place to have dinner. It was, unfortunately, a little windy and chilly all of a sudden. I was worried that it would cool down my steak too much that it won’t be nice anymore, but I didn’t have to worry. I went for the Cajun Marinated USDA Prime Dry-Aged Bone-In Rib Eye. It was expensive, but I don’t get to eat here that often so I thought to just splurge a bit on this. I thought that cajun marinade was a bit new so I just wanted to try it.

As you might have expected, it was huge. The steak was almost overwhelmingly big and thick. The server Andres said that I would be in trouble when he brought the steak to me. Even the people in the opposite table were staring at my food. I slowly but surely worked away at the steak. The steak was wonderfully cooked. There was a nice crust that I could never get at home. The cajun marinate was there but it wasn’t overwhelming. I probably would have preferred the original but I think it was nice to try it. It took me some time to go through the thing but again, it was more because I was tired and sleepy than being unable to finish it. I actually did finish the steak but I wasn’t able to touch the sides which I had to bring back with me. I was very happy with my meal and I just hope that I wouldn’t have any trouble getting back to the lodge since it is still some distance away. If I ever get a chance to come back here I would make it a point to eat here.
