Rowes Wharf

Rowes Wharf

Rowes Wharf

Although I knew that Boston is right by the sea, I didn’t know how many wharves where constructed here. I guess, this is something that is not very common where I came from. Turns out that it is fun to be walking around the wharves. There are numerous establishments that have set up here such as restaurants and hotels so even if there wharf has lost its original function of catering for large ships, there is still the new function of being one for recreation. I decided to see what else is here. I did realize that walking here can make what should have been a short walk from point A to point B into a long walk because you have to follow the path around the wharf which can take quite a bit of time especially if the wharf is big.

Boston Harbor Hotel

Boston Harbor Hotel

I discovered this when I was making a turn a Long Wharf and heading back towards land that there was a large structure here which seems to be a hotel. The hotel has a very distinctive arch which allows people to walk through it. Apparently, this is the start of another wharf – Rowes Wharf. The wharf appears to be fancier than Long Wharf. There there are restaurants and hotels which line the wharf. There are even larger ships which come here. I believe those are cruise ships which can take you around the outlying islands. I think the might be a nice little adventure if I have time for it, but for now, I will be happy just walking around the wharf.
