Rooms at the Chateau de Fontainebleau

I sort of knew what I was getting myself into when I decided to visit the Chateau de Fontainebleau. I planned to visit this place years ago but in hindsight, I’m glad I didn’t. That would have meant that I would have visited the Palace of Versailles and the Chateau de Fontainebleau in one trip. You probably already realized that this might not be a good idea since the two are very similar structures. Both are a showcase of the opulence and excesses of the French monarchy. So to visit one might mean you have somewhat seen the other as well. Well, it took me a few years but I managed to come back and finally visit Chateau de Fontainebleau.

After walking for about half an hour in the chateau, I was already getting flashbacks from the last visit to Versailles. Indeed, the experience was very similar. It is a parade of rooms one after the other. Indeed, the rooms are incredibly beautiful but you could say that it is a design, I won’t be using in my own home. The designs are over the top and only fit to royals like them. I don’t need to impress anyone visiting. I know that there would be more of these rooms all around the palace grounds so I would just take photos and keep going. I don’t even bother looking at the names of the rooms anymore since I was that tired.
