Going to Luke’s Bridge

Luke's Bridge

Luke’s Bridge

These days, it has almost become a struggle to think of someplace to go. I have been to most of the places nearby and I have started to exhaust the ones which are not so nearby. I was hoping that I would be able to find a place that would be worth writing about. I was scanning the Sligo area in Google Maps and I saw a spot which I remember seeing in the map but never actually visited. I have seen signs to it but I either got lazy and didn’t go or I did try but I got lost and gave up. This time I had some time and I was determined to find the place. The area would be in the county Sligo area. It would take some time to get there but I’m hoping it would be worth it.

Mobile phone reception is patchy in this area so make sure you download the maps for offline use beforehand. Along the way, I saw the tourist sign for Luke’s Bridge and decided to follow it. Unfortunately, the signs here aren’t that good and I eventually lost track and ended back in the highway. I took that opportunity to download maps so I won’t have to rely on the road signs. It worked. I finally found the way and I know that because there were cars parked along a narrow road. These are basically dirt roads and they are barely wide enough for two vehicles. Because of a lack of parking here, people are basically forced to park by the side of the road. I just parked behind another vehicle and started walking.
