Mulranny Beach

Mulranny Beach

I managed to find Mulranny Beach, which seems to be another point of interest along the Wild Atlantic Way. I merely followed the coastal route along Clew Bay and ended up at the village of Mulranny. I have passed through this village the previous day and I remember seeing a nice beach. I came back here to see this amazing beach of theirs. Mulranny Beach seems to be much busier than Achill. There were a lot more people here and I think I can see why. The beach here is quite big. This is a proper sandy beach and it looks nice. It was a nice day which is why people were out.

However, my eyes drifted off to further inland where there seems to some sort of strange feature. The ground here looks cracked and there was water flowing through the cracks. I have never seen something like this before. I think these were all sand but the water managed to carve out some channels which turned it into what is it today. The sand is more or less solid here but I wouldn’t take my chance walking near the edges. I can see some are stable enough to grow plants on but still won’t be nice to for it to collapse with you standing on it.
