I finally arrived in the French city of Avignon. I always loved how this named sounded and I thought it sounded like a fancy place. It is actually one of the historical towns of France and I would be spending a couple of days here. Getting here wasn’t that big of a challenge. The TGV I took from Lyon brings me all the way to the main train station of Avignon which is Gare d’Avignon TGV. However, it turns out that Avignon has two train stations. The Gare d’Avignon Centre, as the name implies, is the train station in the city center.

This means that I would need to transfer trains. Fortunately, there are trains from the TGV station to the city center. It took me some time to figure out the announcement board. I wasn’t sure which train was going where. Apparently, the trains to the city center are very frequent even early in the morning. I guess it is possible for people from Avignon to work in Lyon which makes frequent trains to the city center worth it. Although the trains to the city center weren’t as long as the TGV one, it was still large and spacious. After all, the trains are very frequent so one would not need to wait very long for the next one.
