I finally returned the car back to the rental car company. It was very convenient for me, but it wasn’t cheap either. I made the most use of the car by going around some places which I think were a bit more challenging to visit via public transportation. Now that I have seen all I could within my allotted time, it was time to return to public transportation. I think I planned the visit quite well and I still got to see most of what I wanted to see given the limited amount of time I had. I quickly got on the bus to the Venice Mestre Train station to get on the train to continue the rest of my journey.

As you might expect, the Venice Mestre is the main train station for the city of Venice. I didn’t visit Venice at all in this trip as I was only transiting through it. I will be taking the trains from now on as I make my way west. Even though I was taking public transportation now, there are still lot of places to see along the way. I purchased tickets to the nearby city of Padova or Padua. There are frequent trains going through the city and I since the train ride would just be twenty minutes, I can afford to fall asleep lest I miss the my stop. As usual, the trains were spotless and very comfortable. I wasn’t sure if there was a lower class of train to take, since was only twenty minutes away but I was very pleased with my train ride. It sure beats driving and I don’t have to worry about parking.
