I was very happy with the view of Český Krumlov from the castle bridge. It is probably one of the best viewpoints in the entire town and I was glad that it was open to visitors even if we didn’t go in the castle itself. Before it gets totally dark, my friends and I head down the castle and were back into the town. I thought to myself that Český Krumlov doesn’t feel as crowded as I would have imagined it to be. Perhaps it was because we went there end of March and it wasn’t exactly prime touring season, which is perfect for me.

I wanted to have a look around town first and while my companions were already having second thoughts. I think I can walk way more than they can because of various reasons so I just don’t want to push it too much. Still they went along with me and it helps that Český Krumlov isn’t really that big in the first place. We were able to go to one of the banks of the Vltava River. This one is right in front of the Church of St. Vitus which rises high above the opposite bank. The church is built on elevated ground and the design of the church enhances the already imposing height of the church. We weren’t able to get in the church either since the doors weren’t open. I wasn’t sure if it was because we just couldn’t find the entrance or that it was already closed for visits but it is said that the Church of Saint Vitus has frescoes inside. It was a shame that we weren’t able to see it.
