By this time, I will no longer be disappointed seeing yet another frozen lake here in the Dolomites. I have visited two lakes so far and the first one was totally frozen, while the second one was half frozen. I was at the Lago di Braies for yet another lake visit and yes, this one was also totally frozen. The Lago di Braies seems to be the most popular of the lakes here in the Dolomites just judging from the large parking lot outside the lake area. What’s more is that parking is paid here so there is no getting around that. From the car park, it just a short walk to the lake.

Naturally, most of the visitors where here at the lake, even if it is completely frozen. The lake is surrounded by tall mountains, and despite it being completely frozen, it is still very picturesque. Not too far from the entrance, you can notice that there is an old wooden house here. It is built on top of the lake and it seems like it is a place to rent boats in the summer. I didn’t see any boats here, they might have already stored them away before the lake frozen. Still it makes for a beautiful foreground, forming a postcard perfect photo of a lake. Most of the people here are walking along the shore and I thought that I should try that since I don’t think I would have any more stops for a while. It was close to noon as well so I might also grab some food while I’m at it.
