The main square of the town of Třebíč was surprisingly, disappointing. It was empty, the stalls weren’t operating and there were hardly any people walking around. I understand that it was still cold outside, so people might not be wanting to be outside but for a town square, this one in Třebíč was rather boring. There were the usual buildings around the square which may be reminiscent of the square in Telč but the vibe is totally different. Fortunately, there were some restaurants around the square which we were interested in. We didn’t eat much that day apart from a snack in Telč, so this time we will be more time for our dinner. It was still a little early for that but we will just go for it.

We ended up at this place called Restaurace Black House Třebíč. While the building it is in isn’t totally black, it is one of the more distinctive buildings around the square for it exterior design. We went in the restaurant not knowing what it serves, assuming that it was another local restaurant. However, we were surprised to know that they serve Greek food. My friends have been to Greece before and had the food there, so they would be familiar with it. This would be a first time for me.

I got the chicken souvlaki for myself since I have never had that before. I understand this is grilled chicken, which made me wonder how nice could it possibly be. I imagined that the chicken would end up dry since I assumed they would be using breast meat here. Sure enough, they used breast meat for the skewer but surprisingly, it wasn’t dry at all. The skewer came with pita bread and fries. It wasn’t mind blowing and it was okay. I don’t know what to make of this restaurant. I guess it is a Czech restaurant which serves souvlaki. I don’t know what else is Greek about this place. It was a pleasant enough place to stay in and I imagine it would be great to have a few drinks in. But we’d much rather consume the drinks we already had back to our accommodations.
