The town of Žďár nad Sázavou is less than a hour’s drive from Třebíč. It is the next stop of our tour of this part of Czechia or the Czech Republic. I think these type of drives are better since they aren’t several hours long. We actually arrived in good time. We are here to visit a church in Zelená Hora, which is a hill just outside the town. We managed to find parking on top of the hill and this gave us the opportunity to see what is around this hill. The town of Žďár nad Sázavou sits along the Sázava River which is the sixth longest in the country. The UNESCO World Heritage site listed church was built on this hill which overlooks the river and as you can see, you get a great view of the river.

We also realized that this hill is also very exposed to the elements. It was still March when we visited, which meant that it was cold, especially with the wind blowing. It was already threatening to rain and we thought that we should hurry before it does rain. There is a bit of shelter within the church but I’m not expecting too much. The church was built on top of the hill and it is possible to walk around church to have a look.
