I really like the design of the Pilgrimage Church of Saint John of Nepomuk at Zelená Hora. The ring cloister surrounding the central church building is really a first time for me. The concave walls of the cloister also remind me of flower petals which the church in the center. Looking around, you can see how ever present the number five is. Sometimes, as in the case of the cloister, it would be multiples of five. The cloister has ten sides but the main church building itself is a five pointed star shape. It is a shame that I do not have a drone that will allow me to look down on the church to see how beautiful and elegant the design is.

We saw that the main door of the church wasn’t open so we were just going around the cloister waiting for it to open. It was also rather challenging since there was a lot of wind up here in Zelená Hora and although there were the cloister walls around us, somehow the wind still gets through and it was cold. We couldn’t take it anymore and decided to call it quits. It was then that someone saw a sign with timings on it. I assumed that it was for Holy Mass, it was, but there was more, they weren’t open on the day we were there. We waiting for an hour before finally looking at the sign, which admittedly was not the easiest to understand as it was in Czech. Still we didn’t have to wait in the cold all for nothing. We assumed that since we able to get all the way to the cloister, there was no reason that the church itself was closed. Oh well, if something was odd, we should have gotten more information sooner.
