I knew that Canyonlands National Park in Utah is the largest of the five national parks in the state but strangely enough, I probably spent the least time here among the five. Yes, I did come to the park very early in the morning to get some sunrise photos, but the rest of the visit was quite quick. I visited several viewpoints and that was it. The main driving route wasn’t that long and it doesn’t reach all parts of the park. While the park has four districts, I only got to visit one district and that is the one which is easiest to access. There are ways to get to the other districts but some of them are more for experienced trekkers where you would need specialized equipment and vehicles to get access those districts. With that I had to call it a day.

It was a nice change since I have been frantically trying to see everything as much as I can and I was glad that I would get this change to breathe. I will have a busy day the next day, so this is very much welcome. It would be a while before it was dinner time so I went back to the hotel to rest a bit before heading out again. This time, I was going for some Mexican. This is a very common cuisine here in this area since it is close to the border. I decided to go to Fiesta Mexicana, an obviously Mexican place. The restaurant is very colorful and most Mexican restaurants tend to be. Besides, with Fiesta in their name, it better be colorful and lively.

I don’t really know much about Mexican food apart from the standard ones but at least the menu was in English. I got the tampiquena, only because I didn’t know what it is. It is some kind of grilled steak with the usual Mexican stuff on it. It was very flavorful and the serving was quite generous. It also came with a plate of nachos which I always appreciate. The staff was friendly and even if their English isn’t that great, but you can tell that they do their best to please their customers.
