I spent most of the day exploring Capitol Reef National Park and honestly, I didn’t find it as impressive as the other parks I have been to. I am sure there were lots of stuff I missed but I think I got most of the important places. I also know that I didn’t hike as much as the park deserves. I didn’t plan on staying nearby so I don’t have much time to go around here. After walking a bit along the Grand Wash Trail, I head back to the car because I know I still have to drive far to get to where I would be staying for the night – all the way in Moab City, more than two hours away.

Although I did more hiking today than the previous days, I didn’t feel that tired. I think it is because that last trail was so flat that it felt more like going for a walk. I finally set out and started driving. I think it helped that it wasn’t very tired from hiking since I know it will not be a good idea to do that with my legs all sore. To top it off, I haven’t had any lunch so I am looking forward to a good dinner tonight. Moab City seems to be rather large, hopefully this means that I have a lot of choices.

After two hours of driving, it was already starting to get dark but I was at my destination. Moab City seems to be far busier than I expected. There were a lot of restaurants and hotels along the main road but I will be staying at a quieter side of the city. Scenic View Inn and Suites Moab is a hotel on the southern end of the city. It is still along the main highway which cuts through the city so it was easy enough to get to. The hotel is nicely set up and very clean. I think this is very important since there is a lot of desert dust that may come in from the outside and even from the guests. They even have a footwear brush to clean your footwear before coming in.

My room was great. It was clean and spacious. The interiors are very nice and it feels like I’m really staying at a hotel for once. Much as I want to just crash into the bed and sleep, I still have to get dinner. Oh, there is also breakfast here which would be perfect for me since I tend to skip on lunch to keep costs down. I think the only downside to this hotel was that there wasn’t much in the immediate area. Perhaps it is too quiet around here that there weren’t a lot of places to eat nearby. Other than that, I really liked the place and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here the next time.
