I finally reached the visitor center of Capitol Reef National Park. Honestly, it wasn’t that great there at least at the time of my visit. There was a lot of construction going on there as it appears like they were fixing up the parking area, which meant that parking was limited at the time of my visit. The visitor center itself was operational if you could get there. As usual, the staff was very helpful and gave me a few pointers on what to see here, as well as giving me that all important map.

It seems like that the driving route is very straightforward. There will be parking areas at the important areas so it is pretty much very similar to the other national parks. The first stop in my visit to the park is the Petroglyph Panels. As the name implies, there are petroglyphs here which show evidence of habitation by the native people. I was actually quite excited to see this even though I am not a huge fan of anthropology. I don’t know much about the history of the native people of this area and I think this is a good opportunity to learn more about them.
