If you notice, I came straight from Las Vegas airport and head straight to Zion National Park and started my visit. I actually haven’t checked in to a hotel yet. One would think that it would be easiest to just stay at Springdale, since it is just outside the park gates, however I couldn’t find an affordable place to stay in even though it was the low tourist season. Because of this, I had to look further out, the next biggest city would be the city of Hurricane. I don’t know if there is much to see here but it think I would have better chances of finding cheaper accommodation here, aside from having more choices in terms of food.

I finished my visit to Zion National Park that afternoon and head back to Hurricane. I actually passed through the city one my way to Zion. I found a hotel called Super 8 by Wyndham Hurricane Zion National Park. With a name like that, you know that it was trying to capture some of the Zion National Park tourist crowd. It was along a major road and I thought it was easy to get in and out of the city, which for me makes it convenient to access Zion National Park. I felt that I didn’t need to stay that close to the park since I had a rental car anyway.

I know that hotels like there can be hit or miss based on my experience. I was just hoping that since they have the Wyndham name attached to it, there would be a certain level of quality. I know that I shouldn’t expect five star quality either. The hotel is a two story building composed of rooms. They have a pool outside for use during the summer months. However, it was almost winter and it was already freezing. Concierge is on the ground floor and I quickly got a room after checking in.

The room was surprisingly large and nice. I was traveling alone and I didn’t need the second bed in the room but it was too to have. The beds were all nice and cleans. The bathroom wasn’t gigantic but it had all I need there. And most importantly, it was clean. There is heating in the room too which is a godsend for frigid nights like this. I ended up spending two nights here. It was walking distance of some restaurants so I was very pleased with my choice. I would not hesitate to stay here again if I pass through Hurricane. I traveled most of the day to get here and I hiked two hours after that I think I would like to relax my feet a bit.
