In case you didn’t notice, I don’t get too many chances to go somewhere with others. I find it hard to invite other people since most of the time, they would have plans of their own and I would just end up forgetting about it and just go on my own. This time, I was actually included in their plans and suddenly, I have a lot of companions. We weren’t really going anywhere far, but we needed to stay in Dublin for a couple of days. While the other families had the numbers to make a hotel stay worth it. I decided to go my own way and stay at a bed and breakfast.
I initially chose a different bed and breakfast but when I went there to check in, I was told that there was no booking under my name. No booking? I’m pretty sure I got confirmation for that. I was told that they needed the room and they had to cancel my booking. I was told that they tried to get in touch with me but I never got anything from them. It was then that I realized that they must have been that unknown number which was calling me. I never answer unknown numbers and I think that is what happened. I will say that this is not 100% their fault since I think there are other ways of getting in touch with me. This was partly my fault since I didn’t answer what turned out to be their call.
For their part, they helped me find another place to stay in. Not easy since Dublin is always full and not cheap. I really appreciate the effort they made to find an alternative for me. I quickly made my way to Oaklodge Bed and Breakfast and was able to check in immediately. The room was spacious and very clean. It was a very nice place and I think it is in a nice part of the city. It had good access to the bus system but I needed to walk a little further to get to the Luas. If I had a complaint about this place, that would be the tiny parking space. I may not have the biggest car but the parking here is rather small. It was challenging to get my car in the driveway but it doesn’t seem to be a problem for my host.
I had a very pleasant stay at the Oaklodge Bed and Breakfast and I will definitely stay here the next time I need to stay in Dublin. It has a great location and I think the place is great. There was no breakfast, which I knew before doing there, but it wasn’t important to me. I just want a nice place to stay for two nights.
