Trier Christmas Market

I spent the whole morning going around the city of Trier. It has several ancient Roman monuments which got the city nominated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. This is also to highlight the importance of the city of Trier as an imperial city. I think because of this Trier would be better known if only because it is a World Heritage site. For me, it was a detour I needed to take on my way to where I would be spending the night. This isn’t exactly along the way but I think it was worth me going all the way here, two backpacks and freezing temperatures and all. I decided that I have spent enough time here and I know that I need to get out soon because I still have to take a train to the next destination.

Before I leave Trier, I should be filling up for lunch since it might be a long ride. The Christmas Market has been a familiar place for me when looking for food to eat for lunch. I think that it is an inexpensive way to get food. Having said that, I found that the food here in the Christmas markets have been pretty much the same. I ended up getting yet another bratwurst for lunch. I know I have been having it way too often but I am not in Germany that often so I think I deserve it. I will have to look for a nice place for dinner tonight.
