I don’t normally stay over in the city of Dublin. I would usually just drive over for the day and then head back the same day. Primary reason would be that accommodations can be expensive here and I don’t want to have to stay here if I don’t have to. However, I was with families and we will be staying over in Dublin for a few nights to get the kids to enjoy a Christmas experience there. I was just going with the flow and of course I would be there especially for the eating. Whenever I drive over to Dublin, I would make sure that I eat here. There is just much more choice here compared to where I would normally stay.

In our case, it was decided that we will have a late dinner at The Ramen Bar. I have been to this place before when it was still named Kokoro. I wasn’t sure about the name change but as long as the food stays the same I will be happy. I ordered my standard Tonkotsu Black Ramen, which is ramen in tonkotsu or pork broth. The black part is the black garlic oil which they use to give it a smoky, and garlicky flavor. I would like to think that I am very picky with my ramen, especially tonkotosu ramen. I have had a lot of much better tasting ramen in other countries but I can say that of all the ramen that I had in Ireland, this one is by far the best. If you can’t go to Asia to have ramen and are stuck in Ireland, then this is the best one you will have.
