Nevada-Arizona Border

I was at the Hoover Dam to take photos of this engineering marvel. I was very uncomfortable in that afternoon desert sun. The moment I stepped out of the car, I already felt like I wanted to go back in. I would have thought that I would be better trained for this kind of weather but it is still very challenging for me. I did put on some sunscreen but I knew that it wasn’t going to be enough. There was no shelter at all when I crossed the Mike O’Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge. The only shelter I could think of are the physical barriers they put up to protect pedestrians walking on the bridge. The view of Hoover Dam was incredible but I just wanted to get it over with because of the extreme heat.

The bridge also has signs or markers reminding you where you are. This is actually at the border of the state of Nevada and the state of Arizona. I know some people are fascinated by this kind of thing but I think I get why. It is almost like crossing into another country just by walking over. There is no physical line here. The sign itself is a good enough marker for this. I can’t really think very well, and enjoy the view that much because of the heat. Even the wind on the bridge is hot. How do you even build a dam or a bridge in this kind of place.
